Days 1
Arrival in Addis Ababa – Fly to Jinka
Morning: Arrive in Addis Ababa, where you’ll catch a domestic flight to Jinka, the gateway to the Omo Valley.
Afternoon: Upon arrival in Jinka, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your lodge. After settling in, visit the South Omo Research Center to gain insight into the cultures you’ll encounter over the next few days.
Accommodation: Eco Omo Lodge or similar
Morning: After breakfast, drive to Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, known for their distinctive lip plates and elaborate body decorations. Interact with the tribe members, learn about their traditions, and capture memorable photos.
Afternoon: Continue your journey to Turmi, the heart of the Hamer people. On arrival, visit a local Hamer village to observe their daily life and rituals.
Evening: Enjoy traditional Hamer music and dance performances around a campfire.

Jinka – Mursi Tribe – Turmi
Days 3
Turmi – Omorate – Turmi
Morning: Take a morning excursion to Omorate, near the Omo River, to visit the Dassanech tribe. The Dassanech are known for their pastoral lifestyle and unique cultural practices. Cross the Omo River in a traditional canoe for an authentic experience.
Afternoon: Return to Turmi and spend the afternoon exploring the local market, where different tribes gather to trade goods. This is a great opportunity to purchase handcrafted souvenirs and interact with locals.
Evening: Relax at your lodge and reflect on the day’s experiences.

Days 3

Addis was a great guide. He treat you like part of the family and help you in anything he can. He even went with me for a walk in Bahir Dar looking for a few things I needed for 3 hours.
I did the tour in Lake Tana and its monasteries. It was very good value for money and he was very flexible in the schedule.

Nice memories
Both tours featured good vehicles and guides. Equipment like tents, sleeping bags and mats where good. Food was nice and all the personnel were dedicated. I am very glad Addis and his company helped me have such 2 nice memories from Ethiopia.

Our friend Yibeltal arranged a tour for us with Addis. We booked the half-day tour to Lake Tana to visit monasteries. We had a lovely day, with a lot of history and cultural sights. Addis is a friendly man who wants to tell you all about what you see, he will answer all your questions.
