Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Arrive at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour of the capital, exploring cultural and historic highlights. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Fly to Mekele – Drive to Afar Depression
Morning flight to Mekele, then drive to the Afar Depression, one of the hottest places on Earth. Overnight camping under the stars.
Day 3: Explore Dallol
Visit the Dallol geothermal area with its colorful hot springs, acid ponds, and salt formations. Return to Ahmedale for overnight camping.
Day 4: Drive to Dodom
Journey deeper into the Danakil region, passing dramatic desert landscapes. Overnight camping in Dodom.
Day 5: Erta Ale Volcano
Walk to the active Erta Ale volcano in the early morning. Marvel at the lava lake and surrounding volcanic scenery. Overnight camping near Erta Ale.
Day 6: Afdera Salt Lake
Descend from Erta Ale and drive to Afdera Salt Lake. Explore the salt flats and witness local salt extraction. Overnight camping near Afdera.
Day 7: Drive to Semera or Logiya
Drive to Semera or Logiya, enjoying the remote landscapes of the Danakil region. Overnight in a local hotel.
Day 8: Awash National Park
Drive to Awash National Park for wildlife spotting and scenic views. Overnight at a lodge.
Day 9: Return to Addis Ababa – Departure
